As a Project/Tender Engineer in our multi-cultural team you will contribute in designing our world class AC and DC cable systems to our international customers.

Drive the technical scope commercially 

As a supplier of complete cable systems, we are in an expanding phase where you will be a significant part of our Engineering team. In the role of Engineer, you will be working with the design of the most advanced cable systems on the market in our tenders and/or our delivery projects. You will use both in-house developed and commercially available software to design cable systems in all aspects; electrical, mechanical and thermal. Your calculations make it possible to create cost efficient solutions while adhering to relevant standards. 

You are eager to tailor NKT’s technical offer to customer requirements and applicable standards while maintaining responsibility of risk, budget and schedule. 

You will dealing with all aspects of a commercial offer or the execution of a project, such as commercial, legal, planning and installation activities.

Your primary tasks will be: 

  • Be part of driving the technical scope in tender and/or delivery projects
  • Designing high quality and cost-efficient cable systems based on customer’s specifications and all relevant standards
  • Performing calculations for full technical scope including electrical, thermal and mechanical calculations
  • Responsible for cost related tasks to the products, tests and engineering work in projects/tenders
  • Assessing risks and opportunities in tender/delivery projects
  • Responsible for understanding and consider customer’s contract/specifications
  • Serving as the technical interface to customer in tender/delivery projects

Analytical and collaborative engineer with good communication skills

You are efficient in managing your own time and flexible to adjust to the varying demands of project work. Meeting deadlines and quality criteria is a natural part of your workflow and planning.

As a versatile communicator you are service-minded and you can elaborate on complex concepts adjusting your message to your audience during negotiations within the technical scope with NKT’s customers. Furthermore, you are systematic in collecting, organizing and presenting data in technical documentation with high quality and in accordance with internal and customer requirements.

Additionally, your CV contains: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering. Relevant Engineering disciplines,  Physics will also be considered. 
  • Proficiency and experience with modern IT tools for engineering, such as Matlab or Comsol
  • Fluency in spoken and written English
  • Eligible to work in the United States.
